IS THE PAST POPPING UP IN YOUR DREAMS?

We are in a fascinating time astrologically. I’m not an astrologer, but I am fascinated by the energies that surround us at this time and how they can sometimes mirror what we are experiencing within ourselves.
Over the last few nights, I’ve been stepping into the dream realm and seeing familiar faces from the past. People where perhaps there was unfinished business, or where I never really had closure. My dreams put them into situations that would never happen in real life, making them strange and complicated. Unable to fathom out why this would even be occurring.
I could feel the furrow of my brow aching as I tried to work out what these dreams meant. Then a voice spoke to me very gently:
“This is the final release, let it go.”
I relaxed and sank down into a deep slumber.
Venus is retrograde, and Mercury is due to turn retrograde on 24th October, as I write this. Astrologically, these periods are often associated with revisiting relationships, old feelings and unfinished conversations. People, lovers and situations from the past may come back into our awareness.
But this doesn’t always mean someone will literally walk back into your life. Sometimes, they return through our dreams, our thoughts or the emotions that resurface when we least expect them. And, as Mercury is associated with communication, perhaps some of us will find ourselves having conversations that we thought were long behind us.
But what if the purpose isn’t to go backwards? What if it’s to finally let go?
As far as the planets are concerned, the invitation is to reflect on the past and consider what we are still holding on to. That might mean working through old beliefs, patterns and programming that we have carried for years.
Sometimes, our dream world brings us a solution. Perhaps we dream about a person or a situation and, although the circumstances are strange, we notice that we feel differently about them.
I know I did.
I felt as though these people were strangers. No longer friends, associates or lovers, but people from a chapter of my life that had already passed. I was a little affronted as to why they were infiltrating my dreams, but perhaps my subconscious was bringing something to the surface that was finally ready to be released.
Finding the meaning in our dreams.
I like to seek clarity in the Akashic Records. For me, they are a wonderful place to gain insight into my dreams and access wisdom and knowledge from a higher source.
My guides often offer information that helps me process what I have experienced during the sleeping hours, giving me a different perspective on what may be happening beneath the surface.
This time, the message was confirmation that a chapter was coming to an end for me. A chapter where love was given but not reciprocated.
And perhaps that was all I needed to understand.
Sometimes, we can spend so much time trying to understand why something happened, why someone treated us the way they did, or why a relationship unfolded as it did. We search for answers, closure and an explanation that will finally allow us to move forward.
But perhaps closure doesn’t always come from another person. Perhaps it comes from within us, when we no longer need the answers we once thought we needed.
When a light shines brightly, it attracts more light, but it can also shine a light on the darkness. There may be things we need to face, feelings we need to acknowledge and old patterns we need to release.
This can feel mysterious, but for me, it is part of our journey. To continue being the light, we sometimes have to navigate the darker parts of our own experiences, rather than pretend they don’t exist.
It is not about allowing those experiences to dim our light. It is about learning from them, finding our strength and choosing how we move forward.
Our mission is to continue to be the light, even when life invites us to look at the darkness.
Let the dreams come
Life can certainly present its challenges, and we are all navigating our own journeys. What feels difficult for one person may be entirely different for another.
So, let the dreams roll. Let whatever needs to surface come to the surface. You don’t have to analyse every detail or find a meaning in every person who appears in your dreams.
Instead, notice how you feel. Has something shifted? Are you holding on to an old hurt, a belief about yourself or a need for closure? Or perhaps you are simply being reminded of how far you have come.
Meditate, do the inner work, let go of the past, release and surrender.
You are powerful, even in moments when you feel uncertain or unsettled. Our outer experiences can sometimes reflect what is happening within us, and I always remember hearing someone explain that today is the manifestation of yesterday.
What we think, feel and carry with us today can influence the choices we make tomorrow. When we begin to release the old, we create space for something new.
And please remember, we don’t have to be high vibrational all the time.
We are human. We have emotions and feelings, and some of them are not particularly comfortable. Anger, sadness, frustration and disappointment are all part of our experience. We don’t need to push them away or judge ourselves for feeling them.
The important thing is to acknowledge what we are feeling, give ourselves permission to feel it, and then gently find a way forward.
Sometimes, even anger can help us move out of a spiral and into action and motivation. Every difficult emotion has the potential to show us something, help us make a change or encourage us to choose a different path.
I always tell the ladies in my groups and programmes that when they are feeling down, they can gently reach for gratitude. Look for the love around you. Notice the little things that bring comfort, connection or a moment of peace.
You don’t have to force yourself to feel better. Just take one small step towards a feeling that supports you.
Perhaps that is what these dreams are inviting us to do: to recognise what we have carried, honour what we have experienced and understand that we don’t have to carry it forever.
If people from your past are appearing in your dreams, perhaps take a moment to reflect on what they represent to you. Not necessarily who they were, but how you felt, what you learned and what you might now be ready to leave behind.
Sometimes, the past returns in our dreams not to pull us back, but to show us that we are ready to move forward.
This too shall pass.
Stay in your light. See things from a higher perspective. And trust that, with a little reflection, compassion and willingness to let go, you can make space for the next chapter of your life.
Maybe something has come up for you that you wish to explore further. If so, and you are interested in the work that I do, you can book with me via the website.
Much love,
